Richard and I took a trip to Todd Mission Texas to experience the Texas Renaissance Festival for the first time. It's been on my bucket list since I was 14 and I finally did it!
What. an. experience.
I've always loved everything fantasy from books, to movies, to video games, to decor. I'm even attracted to fashion that has a hint of elf princess in it. I don't know what it is.. maybe it's the strength and valor that comes with every story of a hero that I love so much.
Anyways, we had a blast. The sound of beating drums and perfectly synchronized chants filled the air and there was never a moment of silence. Everyone working stayed in character and addressed us by lord and m'lady. It was like I stepped into another world. It could have been the influence of mead but everyone seemed extra friendly and outspoken.
The campgrounds were WILD so be prepared if you decide to stay the night. Fire dancers were the main source of entertainment and when midnight rolled around the brave participated in a game of naked jenga.. If you lose you have to rebuild the entire tower naked. Absolutely insane.

I thoroughly enjoyed all the pictures and can not take my eyes off them. This festival is in my to do list as well and would love to attend it some day.
